JULICO S.A.R.L. · C.R. No. 3928102 · Tyre, Lebanon
JULICO S.A.R.L., registered at the Commercial Registry of South Lebanon under No. 3928102, with its head office at Hara El Katholik Street, Mark Kayal Building, Tyre, Lebanon (“Julico”, “we”, “us”, “our”), respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains what personal information we collect from sellers, buyers, and visitors of the Julico marketplace (the “Platform”), how we use and protect it, and the choices you have. This Policy forms part of, and should be read together with, the Julico Seller Agreement.
1. Information We Collect
- Account and registration information — name, business/shop name, contact name, phone/WhatsApp number, email address (or, where you do not provide one, a system-generated login identifier on a Julico-controlled domain), and shop location, including any map pin you set.
- Identity-verification documents — for sellers, a copy of the owner’s government-issued identity document and its details (ID number, ID type, and issuing country). We collect this to verify that the seller is a genuine, identifiable person and to reduce fraud and misuse of the Platform.
- Listings and content — the products, prices, descriptions, images, and other content you publish.
- Payment-confirmation information — proof-of-payment receipts you send us for your Subscription. We do not collect or process card numbers or buyer payment details; Buyer–Seller payments occur directly between the parties.
- Usage and technical data — basic technical information generated when you use the Platform, such as log data.
- Buyer information received by Sellers — where a Buyer contacts or orders from a Seller, the Seller receives the Buyer’s relevant contact and order details to fulfil the Transaction.
2. How We Use Your Information
- create and manage your account and shop, and provide the Platform;
- verify seller identity and prevent fraud, abuse, and illegal activity;
- confirm and renew Subscriptions, and send service messages such as subscription reminders;
- display Listings to Buyers and operate the marketplace;
- communicate with you (including by WhatsApp, phone, or email) about your account, payment, and the Platform;
- comply with legal obligations and respond to lawful requests from authorities;
- protect the rights, safety, and security of Julico, its users, and the public.
3. Identity Documents — Special Handling
Because identity documents are sensitive, we apply additional care:
- They are collected solely for identity verification and fraud prevention, not for marketing.
- Access is limited to authorised Julico personnel who need it for those purposes.
- They are stored securely.
- They are retained only as long as necessary for the purposes above and to meet legal requirements, after which they are deleted or anonymised.
4. Sharing and Disclosure
We do not sell your personal information. We may share it only:
- with service providers who help us operate the Platform (such as hosting), under confidentiality obligations and only as needed;
- with Buyers, to the limited extent necessary for them to transact with a Seller;
- where required by law, court order, or a lawful request from a competent authority;
- to protect the rights, safety, or property of Julico, our users, or others;
- in connection with a business transfer (merger, acquisition, or sale of assets), subject to this Policy.
5. Data Retention
We keep personal information for as long as your account is active and as needed to provide the Platform and meet legal obligations. In line with the Seller Agreement, where a Subscription remains unpaid for two (2) months after deactivation, the shop and its associated content may be permanently deleted. Identity documents are retained as described in Section 3.
6. Security
We take reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect personal information against loss, misuse, and unauthorised access. However, no system is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security. You are responsible for keeping your login credentials confidential.
7. Sellers’ Responsibilities Regarding Buyer Data
If you are a Seller and you receive Buyer information to fulfil a Transaction, you must handle it lawfully, use it only to complete that Transaction and provide related service, keep it secure, and not use it for any other purpose without the Buyer’s consent. You are responsible for your own compliance with applicable data-protection laws.
8. Your Rights
Subject to applicable law, you may request to access, correct, or delete your personal information, or to object to or restrict certain processing. To make a request, contact us using the details below. We may need to verify your identity before acting, and some information may be retained where the law requires or permits.
9. Children
The Platform is intended for businesses and adults. It is not directed to children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
10. Changes to this Policy
We may update this Policy from time to time. Continued use of the Platform after an update takes effect means you accept the updated Policy. Where required by law, we will give reasonable notice of material changes.
11. Governing Law
This Policy is governed by the laws of Lebanon, and any dispute relating to it is subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the competent Lebanese courts.
